Research shows that most people working in organizations today suffer from a lack of feedback; and they, in turn, fail to give feedback to the people around them. An increase in the amount and the quality of feedback that people receive leads to an improvement in their motivation, the quality of their work, and their ability and willingness to develop.
The aim of the feedback game is to scaffold the peer feedback situation for the students so they learn to give each other relevant feedback and keep their focus on the feedback process. The game can be used by the students both inside and outside the classroom.
The Feedback Game consists of 144 four-color playing cards, divided into two groups: Strengths: These cards contain positive human qualities such as: helpful, honest, enterprising, creative or responsible. ; Weaknesses: These cards contain what might be called 'distorted' qualities or weaknesses such as: arrogant, inhibited, inflexible, hesitant. Through a process of swapping cards, colleagues practice giving and receiving feedback in a safe environment, and find out how others perceive their strengths and weaknesses. Includes facilitation notes for three different games. Each card is laminated, approx. 4" x 2.5".
